Realisation

The old route started with Timbuktu, if only because of the high symbolic value of Timbuktu, the historic centre of caravans, science, salt and gold. Because of the threat from the so-called Islamists, the plan is now to start from Bamako (Mali).

The Journey

For the period of about two years, the people of Caravan will be travelling ca. 5.400 km. On the way participants will develop results of discussion and works of art that will be performed at 5 festivals.
