The goal of Caravan is the equitable distribution of the Earth’s resources among all its inhabitants. Air, water, land and energy belong to the entire world population. If all people have access to them, there will be no more wars, no ethnic conflicts, no gender struggles. That’s the birth of the global society!
Awa Dembele speaks – The freedom of woman
In her video (French with English subtitles) author Awa Dembele describes the relationship between men and women in Mali in general and from her own, often painful, experience. However, she also makes it clear that it is possible to fight back against outdated and degenerate traditions that degrade women to objects. Awa Dembele calls on her African sisters and mothers to do the same, to overcome patriarchy and to fight together against a mentality of oppression that has a negative impact on social relations and hinders the development of society.
This video was realised in Bamako, the capital of Mali, in cooperation with Straight Line Political Analysis, a media project by the Global Discussion Club.
